I'm Nathan Shawl, and I'm originally from Connersville, Indiana, which is located about two hours east from Indianapolis. Although my love for sports started when I was a swimmer, I began my sports creative journey in high school.
As a sophomore, I started off as a play-by-play analyst for my high school sports, but when I picked up a camera for the first time, I realized I enjoyed telling stories with my lens than with my voice. Creating videos allowed me to show everyone that there is always a story behind that person in the game, and I wanted them to embrace that aspect of sports.
Currently, I am working at the Mark Cuban Center for Sports Media and Technology as a creative video intern. For the past 3 years, I've grown in my storytelling abilities by producing engaging content on multiple platforms, especially Instagram reels. I'm learning to balance my creative ideas within the fast-paced world of sports.
My work in the Cuban Center also lead me to opportunities with the NCAA and their postseason coverage, where I served as a vertical content creator for the Men's College World Series. I've also been able to work with athletes and help them create partnership content with high-profile brands, including Raising Cane's, Peacock, and Coca-Cola.
